McDonough Busted Mugshots
McDonough is the Henry County seat, yet city and county records live with different custodians. MPD may make the arrest and write the incident report. HCSO runs the Henry County Jail and opens the booking entry when someone enters county custody. Deputies or another agency can also arrest inside the city. Request each officer's narrative from the office that wrote it. Get the jail's intake record from HCSO.
The city counted an estimated 32,803 residents on July 1, 2024, per the U.S. Census QuickFacts estimate. That figure describes population, not arrest volume. When a McDonough arrest may have led to county intake, start with the official Henry County Jail inquiry. It returns name, subject number, booking number, and in-custody status. You also get booking dates and housing facility. HCSO supplies custody, charge, and bond details. It does not promise a photo with every public result, though.
- Booking
- Jail intake after an arrest. It creates or matches identifiers and records the charges and custody information used by the detention system.
- Arrest report
- The originating police record, which may describe the officer's actions and incident facts. It is not the same as a jail roster entry.
- Disposition
- The court's result after filing and review. A disposition can reduce, dismiss, or otherwise resolve charges that appeared at booking.
Where McDonough Busted Mugshots Appear
McDonough has no public police arrest log to browse. There is no daily bulletin or recent-booking feed either. That gap makes the formal request path matter more, not less. HCSO remains the official custody source once a person is booked into the county jail. MPD holds the reports for a municipal arrest. Private sites can offer discovery clues. They cannot certify that someone is still held or that a charge survived court review.
| Channel | Photo status | Official? | How to access and what it covers |
|---|---|---|---|
| Henry County Jail inquiry | Not guaranteed | Yes | Search current HCSO custody by name, subject or booking number, date range, custody flag, and housing facility. It covers county intake, not every city contact. |
| HCSO records and photo request | Specific image requires the separate process | Yes | Use HCSO Open Records for a defined booking record. Use the HCSO photo-request path when an identified booking image is needed. |
| McDonough Police Records Division | Report attachments vary | Yes | MPD keeps its police reports and has a dedicated open-records page and request PDF. It does not publish a recurring name-and-photo arrest feed. |
| HCSO app and alerts | Not a separate photo source | Yes | The official HCSO app site provides inmate search, alerts, tips, and open-record links. Verify an important result against the underlying county system. |
| Georgia Gazette Henry page | May copy booking material | No | The unofficial page specifically names McDonough in its county coverage and can be useful for locating a date or agency. It is not a live jail roster or court record. |
| Recently Booked Henry page | Henry images are not promised | No | It describes a rolling 30-day page refreshed multiple times each day, while also stating that Henry County does not provide mugshot images. Those are private-site claims, not HCSO service levels. |
| Henry Herald and FOX 5 | Selective, story dependent | No | Local and regional outlets cover notable McDonough incidents. Their stories and images are not a complete booking inventory and may not show a later disposition. |
The aggregators come up thin for Henry County. Arrests.org carries a Henry shell that often sits empty or stale. Mugshots.com keeps a Henry category with dated examples and no steady cadence. Busted Newspaper and Mugshots.zone show no verified Henry County, Georgia section. Treat no aggregator link as an official McDonough source.
Busted in McDonough: Find a Booking
The right lookup depends on the question. Current county custody? That belongs to HCSO. The officer's narrative sits with MPD or another arresting agency. A court docket answers what happened after booking. Follow the sequence below, and note the date you checked, since HCSO publishes no guaranteed update interval or fixed retention period for roster results.
- Open the HCSO inquiry. Search by full or partial name. Add the subject number or booking number when available. Keep the current-custody filter on when the goal is to find someone HCSO holds now.
- Use the date fields as a fallback. Set booking-from and booking-to to one day for a same-day check, two dates for a short window, or seven days for a weekly search. These are user-created windows, not certified daily feeds.
- Read the custody boundary. A city ticket, a contact without jail admission, a quick release, or a transfer can keep a name out of the default current view. An empty result does not prove that no McDonough arrest occurred.
- Request the city report. Use MPD's form, email, or Records Division for the arrest or incident report. Ask HCSO separately for the booking sheet, charge and bond entries, release entry, or a specific booking photo.
- Check the court and later custody. Search Henry's appropriate court for disposition. If a person was sentenced to state prison, use GDC's offender locator. Federal or immigration custody is a separate system.
The Henry County busted mugshots hub lays out the broader field and custody picture. A McDonough result still needs an agency name and a date. Label each booking number, court case number, and agency case number by source. None of those identifiers is interchangeable.
McDonough Police Records
MPD offers the clearest municipal request path among Henry County's three cities. The Records Division sits at 50 Lawrenceville Street, McDonough, GA 30253. The main police line is 770-957-1218. Administrative and Records hours run Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Major holidays close the office. The city's Office of Professional Standards and Records information names the division that releases reports. No public arrest feed changes that responsibility.
Use the dedicated McDonough Open Records Request page along with its police request PDF. The form gives MPD three business days to respond. A large or redaction-heavy request may take longer to produce in full. Email the request to policeorr@mcdonoughga.org or mail it to the Records Division at the Lawrenceville Street address. Name the person, date, location, incident number, and the exact records wanted.

MPD's published fee schedule is worth knowing. The first 15 minutes of qualified labor cost nothing. After that, search, retrieval, review, or redaction labor is billed at the lowest-paid qualified employee's rate. Letter or legal-size copies run $0.10 per page. Ask the Records Division for a current estimate before assuming a request is free.
- Request the MPD incident or arrest report and state whether a report attachment is sought.
- Request an HCSO booking record separately if the person was accepted into Henry County Jail.
- For a photo, use HCSO's separate booking-photo form and the required compliance statement. A city report is not automatically the county jail intake image.
McDonough Crime Coverage
Two aggregators and two newsrooms cover the McDonough beat, and each plays a distinct role. The Georgia Gazette Henry page names McDonough directly. It shows fresh county entries and paginates deeply. The site calls itself independent and unofficial. It also says it pulls records through the Open Records Act. Still, a private listing is not a live HCSO feed. An entry can linger after release, skip a correction, or describe a charge in words a court docket never uses.
For conventional reporting, the Henry Herald crime section is closest to home. Its posting pace and photo habits run on their own schedule, though. The FOX 5 Atlanta Henry County tag gathers incident stories from McDonough and nearby communities. Pictures and video change from story to story. Neither outlet replaces an arrest log.
Use these sources to pin down a spelling, a date, or an agency. Then confirm through HCSO, MPD, or the court before repeating a charge anywhere. The full county inventory, with source labels and a story-to-record path, sits at Mugshots in the News.
McDonough's Strong Request Path
Where McDonough shines is paperwork. The city gives requesters plenty of handles. There is a dedicated police request page, a downloadable form, a public email address, and a Records Division you can walk into. The city also promises a response within three business days and publishes a fee schedule for labor and copies. That beats hunting for a city mugshot feed that simply was not there.
One caution applies. The county seat sits here, but the custodians stay separate. MPD holds municipal police reports. HCSO runs county jail intake, custody status, and its own photo-request process. A court clerk keeps the filed case material. So send the city form for a city report, the sheriff's path for a jail record, and the right court for the outcome. A misdirected request often comes back slow or incomplete, simply because it answered a different question.
Narrow beats broad every time. Name the person. Add a date. Attach a case number if you have one. An exact request lets MPD or HCSO locate the right booking fast and explain any redaction, exemption, fee estimate, or later availability date without guesswork.
McDonough Busted Photo Rules
Booking photos are not automatic web postings in Georgia. O.C.G.A. § 35-1-19 defines the booking photograph and sets conditions on how agencies post and release it. An HCSO requester may have to sign a compliance statement covering publication and removal practices. Under O.C.G.A. § 50-18-72, booking-photo release also bends to that specific statute. The practical effect: a city arrest report and a county intake photo travel down separate access paths.
Removal works on more than one track too. Georgia's O.C.G.A. § 10-1-393.5 creates a no-fee removal route for qualifying outcomes on covered commercial booking-photo publications, complete with formal notice steps and a statutory deadline. Record restriction under § 35-3-37 is its own animal, distinct from a court disposition and from a publisher editing a page. Confirm the outcome with the court first. Then ask the proper agency about restriction. Use the free legal correction route where it applies, and never pay anyone promising to erase every copy.
Henry County Detainer Context
HCSO's July-September 2025 immigration-compliance report counts 3,037 total bookings for the quarter. It lists three ICE detainers. The year-to-date table shows 7,784 bookings and 28 detainers. Administrative numbers like these name no one from McDonough.
Know what a detainer actually is. It is a custody instruction or request inside a separate federal process. It is not a McDonough police report. It is not a Henry County Jail booking, and not a court disposition. Go to the responsible agency and the court for the record that answers your real question.
After a McDonough Busted Arrest
Once booking wraps up, a case can travel several roads: first appearance, bond review, arraignment, plea talks, trial, or dismissal. Arraignment is the formal stage where the charge gets addressed and a plea may be entered. Bond sets conditions for release. To follow the file, use the Henry County case-management and docket route and pick the right court. Felonies usually land in Superior Court. Misdemeanors, warrants, and ordinance cases may sit in State, Magistrate, or Municipal Court.
State prison is a later chapter. For someone sentenced there, search Georgia Department of Corrections Find an Offender. A GDC profile, corrections photo included, describes a state-custody record rather than the original McDonough booking. Federal and immigration locators carry their own limits and are not county mugshot sources.
A careful McDonough record check states what was searched and what the result was: current HCSO custody, a city report, a private story, or a court disposition. If someone is missing from the roster, do not assume release, dismissal, or a clean warrant check without proof. The city request path and the county booking path work side by side. They just answer different questions.
